I am not going to promise you the world.
But, as your VOICE in Lansing, I will promise to work every day to make things better for you and your family.
With the OPPORTUNITY to serve you, I will balance what we deserve with what we have. And if we do not have enough for what we need, I will be RELENTLESS and pursue what's required.
As a city council member, I’m delivering on my promises—listening to citizens, increasing transparency, preserving our green spaces and wildlife, and putting people before politics. As an ATTORNEY, I’ve protected abused and neglected children, advocated for injured workers, and stood up for businesses of all sizes. As a MOM and proud Democrat, I know that when we protect our kids, we protect our future. Our children deserve safe schools, clean water, and plenty of parks to play in.
Every day, it’s my job to UNDERSTAND policy, make the law work fairly for EVERYONE, and deliver JUSTICE. I am EXPERIENCED in recognizing and RESPECTING all sides of an issue before working on a solution. I will take that fair and effective approach to Lansing when I fight for you.
I get it – we all have our own priorities, and what’s good for one community may not always be good for another. But as your voice in Lansing, you can be darn sure I will balance it out, and keep you in the loop every step of the way. When it comes down to it, we all want the same things. We’re all neighbors. Let’s work together, and for each other.
“It falls to each of us to be those anxious, jealous guardians of our democracy; to embrace the joyous task we've been given to continually try to improve this great nation of ours.”
— PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA
My Promise to You...
I will not put myself before my constituents. If it means working nights and weekends, setting aside my own self interest, or missing a Michigan State game, I’m ready.
I will not make empty promises. I may not always win, but I will always try.
I will not eat lima beans or watermelon, because honestly, I just don’t like them.
I will not stop posting pictures of my kids or my dog on social media, or making fun of them when they are ridiculous. I’m still a human being, and I will always find humor in this world.
I will not become complacent or deterred, because no matter how great things may seem, they can always better.
I will not forget who I am, where I come from, and I especially will not forget the people who have entrusted me to represent their best interests, and the best interests of our children.
After over 11 years of getting to know the people of the 38th District, I can say one thing with certainty—people from our community are awesome. They’re worldly, welcoming, and everyone has a unique story. I want to know yours. Tell me something about yourself, like what brought you to town, a favorite memory, your grandma’s best cookie recipe…or just say “Hi.” Whatever it is you want to talk about, I want to hear.
